Ashtanga Crash Course:

Building a Strong Practice in Six weeks!

6 Sundays, beginning April 11 2:30pm – 4:00pm

Week 1 - April 11: Definition, History, Benefits, Methodology,8 limbs of yoga, Pranayama(breath control), and Warm Up

Week 2 - April 18: Ashtanga Fundamental Poses

Week 3 - April 25: Ashtanga Yoga Chikitsa(Yoga Therapy)-Standing Postures

Week 4 - May 2: Ashtanga Yoga Chikitsa(Yoga Therapy)-Forward Folds & Twists

Week 5 - May 9: Ashtanga Yoga Chikitsa(Yoga Therapy) Arm Balances, Shoulder Pressure Poses and Deeper Hamstring and Hip work

Week 6 - May 16: Backbends ,Inversions and Ashtanga Closing

This workshop will build a foundation for a strong Ashtanga Practice. Ashtanga is a dynamic form of yoga that balances strength & flexibility and teaches discipline and how to control the mind. It is the father of most modern western forms of yoga and it is powerful and transformative. Each week, students will be guided through practice and we will pick up where we left off.
