Gotta Play Yoga Instructor

Yoga found me at a transitional time in my life, and helped me to find peace during a time of turmoil. I quickly realized that for me yoga was much more than physical exercise. It was a chance for my mind and body to become one, an opportunity to challenge myself both physically and mentally, to center myself and express my spirituality. After years of practice and studying different forms of Yoga, my teacher found me and I completed my 200 hour RYT training with Kristen Cooper-Gulak in her Kunga Yoga program. Kunga yoga is a perfect fit for my experience of yoga. It is a service based practice, with openness to all styles of Hatha yoga. Kunga yoga stresses living yoga through an expression of Patanjali’s eight limbs of yoga and Metta-Compassion for ourselves and others. It is truly an honor for me to be able to share the gift of yoga with the clients that I serve.

My work in the Pediatric Emergency Department has revealed to me how important both physical and mental health are to us all. My passion for health and wellness combines what I know from studying Western medicine and philosophy to my ever growing knowledge base of Eastern medicine and philosophy. My love of children made my involvement in the Gotta Play program a natural fit. What a blessing it is to share with children the tools that yoga offers us for living in balance and harmony with ourselves and our world.
